Who is it for?
For owners of a diode laser with a Grbl controller, makerspaces, schools and small workshops who want one program that joins drawing, finding settings and lasering, without installing anything.

What does Laser.myWerkzeug.de cost?
Currently nothing: the app is free with a myWerkzeug account. Later it will cost far less than comparable laser software.
Which lasers work?
Diode lasers with a Grbl 1.1 controller in laser mode ($32=1) that appear as a serial port over USB, for example many devices from Sculpfun, Ortur, Atomstack or Longer. The connection runs over Web Serial in Chrome or Edge, with no driver and no extra program. Whether a laser works shows when you connect; the demo machine works without a laser.
Is lasering safe with it?
Laser radiation can seriously injure eyes and skin and start fires. The app checks for obvious mistakes and makes you confirm safety glasses, fire protection, extraction and supervision before every job. The app's stop button does not replace an emergency stop. The person at the laser is always responsible.
Can I also mill?
Yes. Laser.myWerkzeug.de and CNC.myWerkzeug.de are the same program in two modes. Projects and templates open in both.
Where do the material library's values come from?
They are cautious starting values for a 10 W diode laser, converted to your power. Focus, optics and material vary widely. Always check the values with the test grid or a scrap piece.
Does it work offline?
Yes, the app can be installed and starts without a network. You need the account so that projects and settings reach all your devices.
